Click on the "setPref" button to write the text in the field to a text file on your hard drive. You can use this capability to store information to a user's hard drive. This data can be read by other Shockwave movies, which can then take subsequent actions accordingly.
The prefs file must have a ".txt" suffix to it's filename, and it will be stored inside the Shockwave Plug-In Support folder. The actual name of this folder will vary depending on platform, but in will be located in a subdirectory of the browser's Plug-In folder. You do not need to supply any path information when writing these files, as Shockwave can only interact with this one directory and can find it automatically.
